The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of consult-liaison psychiatry, with an interest in using advanced neuroimaging methods to understand mechanisms of psychiatric symptoms in patients with co-morbid neurological and medical illnesses. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include direct clinical supervision and/or didactic teaching of psychiatric residents and psychiatric fellows and/or medical or advanced nursing students in the outpatient psychiatry clinic.
Clinical responsibilities may include a combination of a clinical interest in consult-liaison psychiatry with a research focus on translational studies including using advanced neuroimaging techniques. The successful applicant will have clinical expertise in consult-liaison psychiatry, with an interest in using advanced neuroimaging methods to understand mechanisms of psychiatric symptoms in patients with co-morbid neurological and medical illnesses.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include participation in a multi-disciplinary team of neuroscientists and physician-scientists, opportunities to contribute to study of mood disorders in the context of neurological and medical conditions, and independent research.
